How to tie a scarf | The 40

The 40, or the kid brother that keeps on giving

The smaller size in our scarf range, our 40cm offers a very interesting level of versatility which is, at the very least, as high and wide as its two 60cm and 90cm brothers.

Quite obviously, it does not cover the same needs though. Perfect during spring and summer, it is also very interesting when worn inside, at home, during a party or at the office.

We'll go over some of the most obvious options of how to tie a 40cm scarf together now.

Lavezzi, 14h,23 40cm scarf worn with a navy woolen double breasted shawl jacket over a navy cashmere polo sweater

LEFT: Minorca, 17h33 40cm scarf worn with a denim shirt over a white tee ∙ RIGHT: Panarea, 08h23 40cm scarf worn with a pink cashmere crew neck sweater

Around the neck, the 40cm can be worn the most traditional way, that is rolled into a twisted band of fabric then tied on the front with a simple knot, adjusting the depth of you scarf to your collar, either tucked in, or untucked.

La Posta Vecchia, 16h23 40cm scarf worn with a navy woolen double breasted shawl jacket over a navy cashmere polo sweater

LEFT: Arcipelago, 08h23 40cm scarf worn with a denim shirt over a white tee ∙ RIGHT: Il Pellicano, 10h22 40cm scarf worn with a pink cashmere crew neck sweater

To bring more volume to the party, it also can be worn just folded into a triangle then tied on the front with a simple knot.

Leaving much more fabric visible, this option provides a carefree approach that allows to play with volumes and, above all, colors. Indeed, it leaves you more choice about which color you want to make visible and, with graphic compositions such as Arcipelago or the striped compositions of our Issimo x Les Belles Heures capsule collection, allows you to create unique color combinations depending on what you're wearing.

You'll notice that, depending on the way you tie your 40cm scarf, how you adjust it to your collar, and which color combination you favor, the overall vibe of your look can differ greatly, from effortless and nonchalant to sophisticated and refined.

Now, let's look at how to tie a 40cm scarf with different types of looks. With shirts, and jackets namely
